It’s been a good week, my first week off in quite a while it feels like. But somehow I feel like I have no idea where the time went. I finally joined (or started using, rather) Instagram. Joining the rest of the world, perhaps. You can find me @marmaladia. I’m also on Flickr, and I added a little widget to the sidebar of this blog in case you want to look.

Here’s what I’ve been up to this week:

This Photoset of Discarded Library Books is really interesting. And beautiful, of course.

Guernica ran an article called Portlandia and Porltand, Two Worlds of Whiteness that I found particularly interesting. A good read, especially if you happen to be in Portland.

“Practice is important because you learn to write by writing. No one ever learned to write in any other way.”  — English Composition and Grammar, John Warriner.

Why have I never heard of Stuff No One Told Me until now?!

I came across this free e-book called “Breaking the Time Barrier: How to Unlock Your True Earning Potential” by Mike McDerment and I read about half in one sitting. It’s told in a story-like format but has valuable business advice for anyone who wants to own their own business.

Shauna Haider of Nubby Twiglet wrote about How To Get More of The Work You Love. Although it’s targetting towards designers, it still applies to any craft really. I’m quite into her style at the moment.

I’m off to spend my weekend with my sister, who is visiting from Canada, and also at a weekend seminar. If all goes well, I’ll have a run-down of the seminar sometime next week to let you all know how it went.
